This wedding was absolutely beautiful. I can’t speak highly enough about the Ambassador House and Gardens at Fishers Heritage Park in the town of Fishers which is across the street from me. I have had many shoots at this park before but have never shot a wedding here before. Now, I can’t wait to do it again! Riye’s family brought in Japanese traditions to the wedding with arches handmade out of oragami paper. There was a dove release. The weather was perfect — and by perfect, I mean not a cloud in sky and a high around 75. A beautiful bride and handsome groom and an amazing group of wedding guests. I can’t think of anything that went wrong on this day

The dove release was very cool and so sweet….. until the dove left it’s little mark on Riye. She was a great sport about it though!

When Debbie contacted me for her wedding photography, we started off the planning process with a bit of a hiccup venue wise Luckily, she ended up falling in love with the Scottish Rite Cathedral downtown and I can definitely see why! The gorgeous architecture definitely suits this classy and romantic couple. Debbie & Bruce chose to see each other before the ceremony. Their first look took place in probably the most amazing room in the Cathedral, and I made sure that it was just us and them … but mostly just them

One thing that I thought was totally amazing about this wedding was how family was included in the bridal party. Bruce’s best man was his dad. How sweet is that??

This weekend Jerry and I traveled out to the small town of Marshall, Illinois right over the Indiana border to capture Abby & Scott’s wedding day for them. It was a pleasure getting to know them and they welcomed us into their day with tons of small town charm The rain stopped for all of the pictures and everything went exactly as planned. Ever since I met Hannah, I knew their wedding was going to be something special. A country girl at heart marrying a farmer, their day was filled with love and kindness. Jerry and I talked about how kind everyone was that we met through this couple, and I still must say it again Those of you visiting this blog entry who were a part of Hannah & Karl’s special day… THANK YOU for being so wonderful to us while we were there and making it easy to do our job

Their wedding took place in their hometown and the reception took place at the farm that Karl runs… but I am not lying when I tell you that when I walked into the reception hall that my mouth dropped open when I saw the decorations! You would have never known this place was normally filled with farming equipment!

Here we go.. Karl & his guys…

Did I mention that Karl is tall? Yes, its true. But I’m telling you that they make the perfect couple.

Hannah’s dress had a corset, and those things are not easy to figure out. We played … “how many bridesmaids does it take to figure out a dress?” hahaha And look… they even have directions

They are getting married on New Years Day, so their engagement session was going to include warmth and sunshine. We also knew that we wanted to incorporate Ryan’s awesome car in the shoot. Oh, Lindsey and Alex Lindsey found me randomly awhile ago while researching photographers online, and I am so grateful that she did. I have gotten to know Lindsey fairly well over the past few months, and I feel like we were destined to be friends! We got along wonderfully from the start and as small as the world is… came to find out that her then future sister in law was actually my next door neighbor! How crazy is that? Anyway, Lindsey has now done a boudoir and engagement shoot with me before her wedding day and she has to be one of the most photogenic people I have ever met. She has a contagious smile and these gorgeous eyes that just totally capture you When she introduced me to Alex for the first time, she warned me about how much he despises having his picture taken. Let me tell you something– this guy is wonderful, completely in love with Linds, and had us laughing non-stop the whole wedding day I couldn’t have asked for a more amazing couple. Enjoy your sneak peek!

What to Wear JULY | FISHERS/NOBLESVILLE PHOTOGRAPHER

It’s that time again for our monthly “What to Wear” post. This month it is hot out!! Shorts are absolutely okay in your family portraits as long as you feel comfortable in them. You want your clothing choices to reflect who you are and you want to feel happy, confident and attractive. So choose something that makes you feel good! Summer is also the perfect time to break out the cute skirts and dresses for the little girls… or if you are preparing for an engagement session or senior photos this is the perfect season to wear that fun dress and fun shoes you’ve needed an excuse to wear

Just come prepared… if you choose to wear shorts or skirts, spray some bug spray on before your shoot. The unfortunate part of summer are the mosquitoes…but don’t let that keep you from showing off your tan!
