I knew from the day I met Paige & Kevin that I would have a blast shooting their wedding. Jerry and I both graduated from Purdue and so did Paige & Kevin (although we are older… but shhhh) and they were returning to Boilermaker country to become husband and wife. You might remember this couple from their engagement session in Chicago here .
They had areas around campus that they definitely wanted to visit for pictures and I have to say it was soooo nice to have so much time with them and their wedding party. Usually we are super crunched for time, but this group was up for just about anything. If you are from Indiana or have been to Purdue, you understand the significance of some of these locations including Harrys and the Boilermaker Special 
Here are some from throughout the day….
When we first got there, I went straight to the salon to meet up with the girls.

And those of you from Purdue, we were getting ready in the Union… I cannot believe how much it has changed since we went to school there!

Paige’s dad is a minister and officiated part of the wedding ceremony. It was truly beautiful.
This wedding party was a blast
We REALLY had to fight for this shot. Harry’s has been around Purdue for a very long time… and it’s a bar. They weren’t going to let us in because none of us were carrying our IDs. HAHA! Here we were, with tons of camera equipment and a full bridal party on the train… and yet… they weren’t going to let us in, haha! Thankfully, they changed their minds and we were able to get behind the bar

This weekend Jerry and I traveled out to the small town of Marshall, Illinois right over the Indiana border to capture Abby & Scott’s wedding day for them. It was a pleasure getting to know them and they welcomed us into their day with tons of small town charm The rain stopped for all of the pictures and everything went exactly as planned. Ever since I met Hannah, I knew their wedding was going to be something special. A country girl at heart marrying a farmer, their day was filled with love and kindness. Jerry and I talked about how kind everyone was that we met through this couple, and I still must say it again Those of you visiting this blog entry who were a part of Hannah & Karl’s special day… THANK YOU for being so wonderful to us while we were there and making it easy to do our job
Their wedding took place in their hometown and the reception took place at the farm that Karl runs… but I am not lying when I tell you that when I walked into the reception hall that my mouth dropped open when I saw the decorations! You would have never known this place was normally filled with farming equipment!
Here we go.. Karl & his guys…
Did I mention that Karl is tall? Yes, its true. But I’m telling you that they make the perfect couple.

Hannah’s dress had a corset, and those things are not easy to figure out. We played … “how many bridesmaids does it take to figure out a dress?” hahaha And look… they even have directions

When I talked to Melissa & Ryan about their engagement session, we knew a couple of things for sure. They are getting married on New Years Day, so their engagement session was going to include warmth and sunshine. We also knew that we wanted to incorporate Ryan’s awesome car in the shoot. You may remember Marissa, since she is one of my 2011 senior representatives. We took some of her rep shots back in February but we got together again last night for her regular full senior shoot. We had so much fun on the golf course as she showed off her skills. I admit that I know absolutely nothing about golf and when Marissa started throwing out terms about it I just shook my head and said “ok!” haha It was a very steamy evening but she was an excellent sport, and I am so glad that we did the golf shots right before the sun set. Oh, Lindsey and Alex Lindsey found me randomly awhile ago while researching photographers online, and I am so grateful that she did. I have gotten to know Lindsey fairly well over the past few months, and I feel like we were destined to be friends! We got along wonderfully from the start and as small as the world is… came to find out that her then future sister in law was actually my next door neighbor! How crazy is that? Anyway, Lindsey has now done a boudoir and engagement shoot with me before her wedding day and she has to be one of the most photogenic people I have ever met. She has a contagious smile and these gorgeous eyes that just totally capture you When she introduced me to Alex for the first time, she warned me about how much he despises having his picture taken. Let me tell you something– this guy is wonderful, completely in love with Linds, and had us laughing non-stop the whole wedding day I couldn’t have asked for a more amazing couple. It’s that time again for our monthly “What to Wear” post. This month it is hot out!! Shorts are absolutely okay in your family portraits as long as you feel comfortable in them. You want your clothing choices to reflect who you are and you want to feel happy, confident and attractive. So choose something that makes you feel good! Summer is also the perfect time to break out the cute skirts and dresses for the little girls… or if you are preparing for an engagement session or senior photos this is the perfect season to wear that fun dress and fun shoes you’ve needed an excuse to wear
Just come prepared… if you choose to wear shorts or skirts, spray some bug spray on before your shoot. The unfortunate part of summer are the mosquitoes…but don’t let that keep you from showing off your tan!
