I knew from the day I met Paige & Kevin that I would have a blast shooting their wedding. Jerry and I both graduated from Purdue and so did Paige & Kevin (although we are older… but shhhh) and they were returning to Boilermaker country to become husband and wife. You might remember this couple from their engagement session in Chicago here .

They had areas around campus that they definitely wanted to visit for pictures and I have to say it was soooo nice to have so much time with them and their wedding party. Usually we are super crunched for time, but this group was up for just about anything. If you are from Indiana or have been to Purdue, you understand the significance of some of these locations including Harrys and the Boilermaker Special :)

Here are some from throughout the day….

When we first got there, I went straight to the salon to meet up with the girls.

And those of you from Purdue, we were getting ready in the Union… I cannot believe how much it has changed since we went to school there!

Paige’s dad is a minister and officiated part of the wedding ceremony. It was truly beautiful.

We REALLY had to fight for this shot. Harry’s has been around Purdue for a very long time… and it’s a bar. They weren’t going to let us in because none of us were carrying our IDs. HAHA! Here we were, with tons of camera equipment and a full bridal party on the train… and yet… they weren’t going to let us in, haha! Thankfully, they changed their minds and we were able to get behind the bar :)

I had a great time on Friday night. We had a beautiful model, a very talented makeup artist from Makeup by Megan Alexis and one of the best hair stylists in Indianapolis, Cortland Foxworth, to contribute to this photo shoot. Two different looks were achieved with the makeup and we played up the changing light as well. A few that more of soft and airy feel, and then the ones that are darker and grungier :) Enjoy!

When Lauren and I talked about the location for her senior pictures, she said she wanted to go out a bit in the country. I was fine with that but little did I know just how far we would go, haha :) It’s all good though….. while venturing to places I didn’t even know existed in Indiana, it reminded me just how beautiful our state really is. We may not have oceans or mountains nearby, but this countryside is gorgeous. Lauren graduated just last week and plans to study dental assisting in college this fall. Isn’t she gorgeous? I also have to thank Megan from Makeup by Megan Alexis for doing Lauren’s makeup for the shoot :) We had so much fun! Enjoy your sneak peek, Lauren!

Today I had so much fun with this senior who is graduating from high school in a few days. She has a full basketball scholarship to college and I had a ton of fun with her and her mom today. I also am looking forward to seeing this family again this weekend when they are all in town for her graduation ceremony and have hired me to get some full family portraits for them while they are in town. Enjoy your sneak peek, F family… you guys are so much fun!

You may recognize this beautiful woman from the previous family sneak peek. Megan is a professional makeup artist whom I work with for weddings and boudoir shoots. We also took some head shots for her new website while we were together this weekend. You may visit her website at Makeup By Megan Alexis and be sure to contact her if you are in need of any skin care or makeup services. She is also working with me for our upcoming Boudoir Marathon on May 22, 2010. If you are interested in more details on that shoot, be sure to contact me!

I often get asked what to wear to your photography session with me when it comes time for your family photos, your engagement session or child’s milestone captures. From now on, you can expect us to post a “What to Wear” blog post each month with example of how colors can work together to make a fabulous wardrobe for your photo!

This month’s post is all about color. We may be lacking in color on the trees in Indiana, but that doesn’t mean your wardrobe should lack color! Its time to think past your basic white and black shirts, folks! Have some fun with bold colors such as green, blue and purple. Jeans always work well because most of us enjoy wearing jeans and are comfortable. Remember that if you are comfortable, you will relax, your personality will shine through and we’ll have a rockin’ photo session!!

Also, don’t forget about fun accessories, ladies! The right accessories can really add to an outfit.
