It’s been a quiet few weeks around here due to our family emergency, but our wonderful assistant Trish came to our rescue to make sure our clients were taken care of so important milestones weren’t missed during our absence from the camera. I can’t wait to meet this baby next month 
Jerry and I have an unexpected announcement. On November 20th at 4:38AM, I had an emergency c-section and Madelyn Kate Leonards was born. She weighed 5 pounds 10 oz and was 18.5 inches long. She was born at 34 weeks gestation, so 6 weeks early and has been in NICU ever since. After 2 completely uncomplicated pregnancies, having a premature delivery was definitely not something we expected to happen. However, you can’t always control or plan these things, and I suffered from a placenta abruption and we had to get Maddie out for both of our health and safety. Thankfully, the NICU team is wonderful and she is progressing well. She is on room air now, and we now just have to master feeding for her to come home.
Here are a few photos that Jerry managed to get at her birth. Not what I had planned at all, but she is beautiful, and our little miracle baby. We can’t wait for her to come home and meet her big sister Bella. I also promise better photos as she grows!
